CDAs
A small number of Collaborative Doctoral Awards are expected to be advertised in late 2025, for entry in January/February 2026 or May 2026.
The awards provide a comprehensive package of financial support over the duration of study, which includes:
- Payment of tuition fees at the UK Research Councils' Home rate;
- A stipend at the UK Research Councils' rate (currently £20,780 per annum) for your living costs, which is paid to you in regular instalments;
- A stipend enhancement of £600 per year to help with the costs of travelling to and from the non-HE partner organisation;
- A research training support grant to fund the costs of study abroad, conference attendance and fieldwork;
- Financial support to participate in the consortium's annual conferences, as well a chance to participate in a comprehensive suite of training activities.
- Financial support for placements and the acquisition of the skills necessary for you to successfully complete your PhD.
