Maria Antonia Panascì

Maria Antonia’s doctoral project aims at exploring the scope and significance of European Union citizenship as a source of transnational solidarity, and building a conceptual framework for redistribution within the Union. To this end, her thesis seeks to offer a comprehensive  analysis of distributive practises  both in the field of free movement and the Eurozone. Specifically, her research explores the space of transnational solidarity in the EU by juxtaposing two different phenomena, namely the contraction of social solidarity towards vulnerable migrant citizens with the significant transfer of resources between Member States as a result of the euro area crisis.
